It’s in God’s Hands

We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps.

Proverbs 16:9

So today the world is going to find out who the next American President will be, and while we’re all anticipating the winner one thing is for sure, that it’s all in God’s hands. From the beginning until the end the Lord has always had a plan. Most of us couldn’t imagine this 2020 pandemic, or the election of Trump back when we were celebrating Obama’s election. Most of us look back in our lives and we think, “this is not how I would have imagined my life to go.” And that’s okay. I love this scripture that says we make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps. Our steps. Isn’t it crazy to think about how much influence God has on our steps? From the start of day, He is with us. Have you ever had a moment in your life where you thought to yourself this must be God? I know I have. Maybe you were late for work, only to have missed a horrible car crash. Or maybe a relationship didn’t work out, only to find out that you were dodging a bullet from someone who just wasn’t a right fit for you. Regardless of what we plan on God has the ultimate voice. We don’t have to be afraid or worried about the outcome of this election, we just have to trust Him. Any President could win, but we are still the people that God uses to determine our steps, including those same Presidents. Our job is to love others, do our best, and to trust. Our steps are being guided by the most High, and even when we don’t feel great about where we are in our lives or about things we can’t control, we can trust that it is all in His hands.
