Have Peace

Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in every way. The Lord be with you all.

2 Thessalonians 3:16

What is peace? What does peace feel like? What does it look like? I constantly find myself praying for peace, while also experiencing motions of peace coming in and going out. When I was younger I used to think of peace as a place where there was no trouble, constant joy, and little to worry about. Now I’ve learned that peace is actually more than that. It’s having peace in the middle of a mid-life’s crisis or going through something painful and experiencing a calmness while focusing on the end, that’s actually more like peace. I love the bigger picture behind this scripture as it talks about how God is the Lord of peace who gives us peace at all times in every way. What does that look like for you? For me it looks like remembering the times that I was facing something difficult that God brought me out of.

There are so many things in this world that is are down right horrible. There are so many things that we can’t control. There are many things that we should not be okay with. I personally hate that sex trafficking, destruction of our planet, racial injustices, and injustices in immigration are a reality for us. I also struggle with going back and forth accepting and regretting parts of myself. All this to say… that life is not easy, it’s tough yet through it all God knew it was going to be hard for us. It was hard for the apostles trying to spread the gospel around the world. It’s hard for Christians being judged and persecuted for what they believe in. It’s tough for everyone. Yet, through all of that God still tells us to have peace. Peace. Through the ugly, darkness, the injustices, the war, and obstacles that we humans face, God gives us peace. So today wherever you are in your life I am praying for your peace. Peace that you will trust that God is with you and for you and you will be okay.

Have peace and a very blessed week.
