Humans Make Mistakes

Just a pretty picture of nature to go with human messiness

Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is

Jeremiah 17:7

Have you ever been disappointed by a leader before? Especially a man or woman of God who should have been a certain way and was completely something else? I know that sometimes we tend to hold people at such high regards when they are leading but it’s so important to remember that humans make mistakes. We all make mistakes. Whether you are a leader in your community, job, family, or whatever aspect in your life, everyone is susceptible to making mistakes. You could also just not be a leader, but someone who serves more or maybe you don’t serve and don’t have a leadership position at all. It still does not stop you from making mistakes.

Sometimes those mistakes are not small either. Sometimes those mistakes are frowned up, tough, rock bottom mistakes. They may be mistakes that would make a religious person question your salvation. Have you ever felt that? Or maybe you have witnessed that in someone. Maybe it was a leader who disappointed you. Maybe this leader cheated on their spouse, or stole money from the church. Or maybe it was you, who did something that you truly regret.

Well I’m here to tell you that we’re all human at the end of the day. No one has the right answers completely. We are all learning and growing and making mistakes everyday. It’s in those mistakes where we can actually learn and grow, and sometimes heal from whatever is in our heart that caused that mistake to begin with. In the scripture above, it says “blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is.” Where is your hope? Is it in money? Relationships? A position? Power? Yourself? All of the above? Maybe it’s a mix… but is it in God’s ? I believe God does not care how bad we mess up, because he knows what we are going to we face and who we are far more in advanced than we do. Of course there will always be consequences for our actions, but yet God is so amazing that He still cares more that we seek him and trust in Him. He has the ability to work and change our hearts if we seek Him.

He is that hard foundation that will never lead us astray. Blessed are those who trust in Him. So if you are in a place where maybe you have messed up, or you know someone who messed up, remember how God really just wants us to trust him. Just Him.

God bless you!

Hope you have a blessed week ahead of you.
