The Journey

In their hearts humans plan their course, but the LORD establishes their steps.

Proverbs 16:9

Recently my life has been going through lots of new. New places, new people, new direction. If you were to have asked me when I was in high school where did I see myself at my current age, I wouldn’t say I would expect to be where I am right now. I had plans. We all have plans. To do things, see things, and accomplish things that sometimes only make sense to ourselves. When I think about all the plans that I have made throughout my life, I can see the things where I followed through with and achieved, but there are also the other plans where I struggled, and where those doors were closed.

God closes those doors often in our lives and it’s never to punish us, but to redirect us to where we are meant to be. Going through the journey isn’t always fun. There are times where you might feel like giving up and feel like you can’t keep going, but it’s those time where God’s strength in you shines the most.

I keep telling myself that it’s okay to not accomplish everything on my “To-Do” list because I’m only human. Of course it’s easier than done. Although all these entrepreneurs on Instagram do give me some motivation, I have remind myself to be careful in seeking outside approval, instead of the one that truly matters, which is the Lord’s.

In the scripture above it sums up that even though we can create those vision boards and write down our goals, both things I’ve done and still do, we must remind ourselves that God is the one who tells us where to go in the morning, what to say during that interview, how much you can’t do, and how much you really can do. We can’t always understand his ways, many times we will be tested and redirected in a different direction and in all of that, all we can do is trust that we are being guided by something that cares more about our life purpose than we do. For that I am grateful.

God bless you.

Have a blessed week ahead of you.
