“We love because he first loved us.”
1 John 4:19 NIV

I would have never gone to Israel last year if it wasn’t for my mom. She had been wanting to go and I felt like I could put it off a few years. She was persistent and I still felt like I didn’t want to go, but eventually she made a deal that she’d help me cover part of my trip and I decided since she was willing to do that, I’d go. My mom’s love for myself and my sisters is really special and I’m so grateful that she was the one God chose to be my mom. Still my mom’s love could never match the love that God has for us.
This picture was taken in Jerusalem, Israel. Here on this cliff that is now protected is where people believe Jesus died on the cross. I can’t imagine being Jesus on that cross and the same people who were worshipping Him a week before were the same people who killed Him. Yet, it was God’s unconditional love for us that gave Him the strength and courage to accept His fate as savior of the world. I know that my mom has a great love for me, but it’s God’s love for both her and myself that would teach us how to love. Love is something that is so beautiful when it comes through in a healthy way. It can help us be confident, grow strength, and feel peace. When I didn’t believe that God loved me, my life felt so empty and unimportant, but after learning about Jesus and what He did for us on the cross and actually believing that He did died for me is really changed everything. That love is something that no one on Earth can give us.
So this month we celebrate Valentine’s day, I’m a little past Valentine’s day as I’m posting this post, but since it’s still the month of February why not amplify the love that God gave us. His love is the most pure and the first love of all. It’s because He loved us first that we can know and have a guide on how to love.
I pray that you will accept and feel His love for you today.
God bless you brothers and sisters in Christ.
Have a blessed day 🙂
