We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.
2 Corinthians 4:8-9

When I first started following Jesus I felt this overwhelming sense of peace. It was a different kind of peace that I had never experienced before. It was a peace that felt like I was safe. I felt protected and that I finally had found my way to what the true meaning of life was. It was a hard path to finally get to that point, but once I did, I will never look back. Still, as I continue my walk with Jesus I find myself enduring faith. When I say enduring faith I mean that my faith is constantly being tested by the simple fact that life is hard. As we go through life we are all going to face different challenges, whether you believe in Jesus or not. Life with God is so much more fulfilling because as I endure the hard times I see God’s glory through it. Paul says in 2 Corinthians 4:8-9, “we are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.” I think most of our challenges cannot compare to what Early Christianity was like, or even what other Christians go through in places where Christianity is seen as a threat and people have to go underground just to have church, pray, or read the bible. I think most of our challenges, or at least mine… definitely cannot relate, I can only sympathize and admire their courage and strength. Still it does not take away from our own hardship and struggles. When we are dealing with anything that is extremely difficult, and those times will come, we will be pressured, pushed, shoved, and moved towards whatever direction, but like Paul says we will not be destroyed. So whatever you are going through right now, and even collectively as a nation seeing the horrific nature of gun violence, war, disease, and not knowing who or what to trust, we are being pressured in every way, but as believers we will not be destroyed. Which takes me back to the first days of becoming a believer, that peace maybe be tested at times as I endure my faith, but the more I hold to my faith the stronger the peace in my life becomes. I pray that if you do not have a relationship with Jesus yet, that you will accept Him into your heart, it is the best decision anyone will ever make. God speaks to us all differently so I’m not here to pressure you, just to plant that seed. So you too can also receive that gift of peace and salvation and of enduring faith during the darkest and most challenging times. God loves you and is for you. Have a blessed week ahead of you.
