Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
Galatians 6:9
Most people have things in our lives that we have to heal from. Sometimes, it’s easier to decide that you don’t have anything to heal about, so we continue to live our lives unknowingly hurting ourselves and others along the way. Other times we decide that we want to heal and then we get discouraged because facing the hard things can be very difficult. Whatever it may be for you, healing is intentional and it takes time. It’s not easy to heal from things that caused us trauma or were such a normal to us that unhealthy feels safe. It’s not easy to look at your past and accept it. It also isn’t easy to look at your present and accept the harsh reality that you are far from from “perfect.” It’s okay though, God has a plan for your healing. One thing that I’ve been learning along my healing journey is that it’s not a straight path. Sometimes things come up that you didn’t know you hadn’t dealt with. Also, it takes lots of strength and courage to decide that you don’t want to numb your feelings anymore with drugs, alcohol, food, relationships, etc. True healing is admitting to our own mistakes (without shame) and giving it to God. Letting God take control of your life and heart is one of the most painful and scary things I’ve ever had to deal with. Honestly, I’m still learning, but I’m so grateful for God’s grace and mercy that has gotten me this far. Praying for your healing. Have patience with our sweet God who loves you, and have patience with yourself. You got this and He’s got you.
Have a blessed week.
