1 Thessalonians 4:11 Make it your goal to live a quiet life, minding your own business and working with your hands, just as we instructed you before. Then people, who are not Christians will respect the way you live, and you will not need to depend on others.
As believers, we are often under much scrutiny. God never told us that we had to be perfect, only to follow and accept his perfect Son. Yet, we also do have this underlying pressure of bringing people to Christ, but how can we do this? I know for myself it was not someone telling me to become a Christian that made me accept Jesus as my Lord and Savior, but it was seeing the love of God in others. I can always go back to times when I wasn’t a believer, (far from it) but I did appreciate the faith that the believers around me had. Like my coworker whose faith was strong when her mother passed from breast cancer, or a friend who dealt with a difficult heart break but found peace and strength through Jesus, those little memories were what God used for me on my journey when I had no faith, and eventually that’s what attracted me more and more to Jesus. So let’s live our lives quietly, minding our own business as best as we can, and again we’re not perfect, so then we can truly shine God’s light within us to bring glory to Him.
