Stand firm

1 Peter 5:8-9

Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. 9 Stand firm against him, and be strong in your faith. Remember that your family of believers all over the world is going through the same kind of suffering you are.

Standing firm… well that’s kind of a tough one. How many of us can honestly say that we stand firm when we’re faced with real life situations? Like depression, anxiety, maybe you recently found out you have a bi-polar personality disorder, or other diseases like cancer, diabetes, or any other difficulties of life… Can we really then choose to stand firm on our faith? The short answer is yes, but the hard answer is we have be willing to be okay with the temporary pain of life. The pain that the devil (excuse the dirty word) is literally using against us to take us away from standing firm on our faith. But like the bible says, and the people in the bible have done, standing firm in our in the midst of knowing that you’re not alone, we have God, and we also have each other standing in solidarity amongst the pain and on the side of Jesus, our redeemer, our healer, and our faith. So stand firm in whatever pain and struggle you are currently facing. And don’t let the devil knock you off. You have a great God standing for you by your side.
