Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.
Jeremiah 1:5

So here is my last post on being secure for now! I’m sure many of my next posts will have to do with finding my identity in Christ. I think that we can spend a lifetime knowing and being fulfilled by God. I’ve only been a believer since 2017 and I’m learning so much about having faith and who God really is. I think that through this journey, God is constantly speaking to all of us individually. He knows what it takes to get your attention and to get your heart. Finding my security in Christ means knowing that God is so much more powerful than we could even imagine.
In the scripture above, God is talking to a prophet named Jeremiah who was chosen to speak to the people living in a city called Judah to save them from worshipping other Gods. In the scripture, Jeremiah was afraid and God reassured him that he was created for the task in front of him. God tells Jeremiah he knew him before he was formed in his mother’s womb.
In my past I couldn’t fathom God’s power to know a baby before it was even born. Yet, that’s what God’s word says. So I was formed with a purpose, as you were too. Every breath that we take has meaning. So during those dark nights, difficult times, times of feeling regret, rejection, resentment, loss and confusion, God still has a plan for you. I pray that you will never forget that and always remember that you are so worthy. Whether you’re a believer or not… God still loves you. And I think I’ve been learning more about how my worth and value isn’t in what others think or perceive me as. People’s opinions constantly change. Someday someone will like you, someday someone will not… Just like a Bob Marley says, “Your worst enemy could be your best friend and your best friend your worst enemy.” That doesn’t mean that we suspect everyone and everything, that’s actually a miserable way to live, it just means that we don’t hold people up to this standard that only God was meant to live in. My prayer for myself and for you is that we will continue to fight the good fight of faith and love God more than anything, others as ourselves, but also not take people’s opinions and perspective of us so seriously. Look in the mirror and smile because whatever you’re insecure about you can either change or learn to embrace and despite of it all, you have a purpose.
Praying that you will have an awesome and blessed day 🙂
