God > Doubt

When doubts filled my mind your comfort gave me renewed hope and cheer

Psalm 94:19

Have you ever doubted? Anything? In general? Have you doubted yourself? A friendship? A relationship? Your calling? Doubt can be such an ugly thing that destroys our hope from time to time if we let it. Yet living here on this planet doubt is also a natural part of the human experience. Why is it that it’s so much easier sometimes, to have these negative feelings like doubt? And fear? And insecurities or jealousy? If you’ve ever experienced these negative emotions? Well you’re not alone, we’re human. I’m not afraid to say that doubt is something that has been difficult for me to overcome. Sometimes it feels safer to doubt because “getting your hopes up” can set you up for disappointment. Yet, I love this Psalm where David is talking about God’s goodness in his life. And during those times of doubt, God actually comforted him. This made me think about all the things I doubt in my life, and how I know that even if things don’t turn out how I want them, sometimes, they turn out so much better, because God is just that good. So today I challenge your doubt. Actually I challenge YOU to challenge your doubt. Do you trust God? Can you feel God’s comforting presence? Just know that whatever you’re doubting, you can always trust and lean on God’s peace. How awesome is that? Praying that you will release that doubt. Have peace and an blessed rest of your week!
