God loves me for ME

Okay so let’s talk about comparison… something we all do. In this day and age it’s really hard not to look at someone else’s life and compare. We compare our highlights onto other people’s highlights. Our careers, jobs, talents, relationships…. whatever it is, we have a tendency to compare. Yet, we all know the truth, which is that we always put on what we want others to see. I’ve struggled with comparison for the longest time. I would find myself thinking, “I’m not worthy enough…or I wish I was more confident, funny, talented, prettier, etc. etc.” and that’s being real. I’ve looked at people’s pages thinking “man why can’t my life be more like that?” Yet, every time we do this we are neglecting the fact that God actually made us exactly how He wanted us to be. I used to (and I’m still working on doing less of) beat myself up for not naturally prioritizing getting my nails done, or shopping, or getting my hair done. Don’t get me wrong I feel pretty good when I can do these things, but if I’m going to prioritize getting beautified or saving money, I’d rather save some money, or go out to eat, or just do something fun! But that’s just how God made me. Doesn’t mean that I don’t care about myself, it just means that my definition of beauty may be different than others. And that’s okay. Honestly, most of these ads and popular diets (veganism is not a diet, it’s a lifestyle FYI) are just feeding off our insecurities and making us more insecure. And who am I to think that I’m better than someone else because of how I look? Sadly, this is a prominent issue in our society. And I choose to be different. To stop fighting myself and hating myself for not naturally being as girly from the pressure I constantly feel around me. And as a result I’m able to love and accept myself more and more, and to accept and not judge others more and more. How awesome is that! I love that God made all of us unique, with our own interests, passions, and talents. It’s up to us to accept ourselves and others exactly for who God created us to be. Thank you Jesus! Praying that you will love yourself and be confident in who God created you to be today and everyday. Have a blessed week!

You are fearfully and wonderfully made
