The Glory is His

He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.

Hebrews 1:3

It’s June 2022, we’re in Cancun, Mexico celebrating my mom’s 60th birthday. We’re on our balcony in our hotel room and we see this. All we can think is God is good. How wonderful it is to be blessed by God, but who gets all the glory? Like many of us, I have been through a lot in my life. There were times when I prayed asking God for strength to get through whatever hardship I was going through, so when I see how far I’ve come it can be easy for me to be proud of myself and say that I’m strong, great, and I did it. Yet the truth is that God is the one who was holding me up the whole time. He is the one that made one of our long life dreams come true. Being able to take my mom on an amazing vacation might be something that seems common since we all post all our special vacay moments on social media, but the truth is that it is a privilege. It’s a privilege to be able to go on vacation with your family. It’s really not that common, and there are many people around the world who cannot do what I was able to do for my mom’s birthday, but who gets the glory? At first I would say my sister, my parents, and I have worked really hard so we would get the glory, but in hindsight it was God who was giving us that provision, helping, and guiding us to get us here. To the picture above. As we’re looking out and staring in awe of how beautiful the bright moon looks shining on the Gulf of Mexico, you can’t help but to feel peace and to know who the glory really belongs to. We are all blessed with different privileges, gifts, and talents. In some way or another God makes us “strong.” Still, He was always the strongest, He was always the provider, and He gets the glory. The point of this post is not to show off my nice trip for my mom or to say that you taking a nice vacation or nice things is a sign that God is blessing you. God blesses us everyday in small or big ways. Making it to work, whether you’re on time or not, having a roof over your head, or maybe just being able to live another day. More than anything God blesses us with Himself. When we truly get to know Jesus then we will always have a friend who loves us unconditionally. Just to know God is a gift. I’m also not trying to shame anyone for taking nice trips or having nice things, but to remember who deserves the glory in the first place. Everything belongs to Him and we are here just trying our best to be more like Jesus as we go. Let’s not get proud, but instead be humble in remembering every single dream in our heart, every single privilege, even our own strengths, and the weaknesses, belong to God. He is good, and ultimately He does get the glory. Remember to thank Him today. God bless you. Have a blessed week.
